The Rat House.

I'm not going to beat around the bush, This place is a Bio-Hazard. It is a disease ridden Rat hole. By all accounts i should have the plague from being inside of it. It looks as if it were inhabited by zombies. The air is probably toxic and there are numerous rusted nails and other undesirable stabbers in which to infect me. There is no shortage of rats, all the little black specks on every surface in all the photos is rat feces. Nobody ever said being a Jewelhunter was clean or safe. Enjoy!

Hauted Mansion Redux/A ghost touched my special place-spooooooky

EXPLORED every inch and it was a blast. This place was only recently discovered so weren't completely sure what we might find. What we found was a super fun place to snoop around and enjoy our day!

Oregon City Olde Towne.

Night Shots in Oregon City near the Mcloughlin House.

Kiggins / Nisbett Mines

This was a Lone Jewelhunter mission in early November to the Kiggins / Nisbett Mines near Timothy Lake on Mt Hood. The site is the closest subatantial mine site to portland that i know about. it is only about an hour and a half away.

These were Cinnabar mines and were operated during World War II.

No Trespassing.

So the other night Dan and I got put in handcuffs for trespassing. We went to the sauvie mill to take night shots with the help of a lantern. we were only there for about 20 minutes and a neighbor saw the light bouncing off the silo and called the cops on us. after a while we notice a car parked behind our with its lights on. it would only be two things, either a security guard waiting for a cop, or a cop waiting for more cops. we decided that since he wasn't coming in alone, and if we went out it would be over, and the reinforcements were already on their way so we decided to keep taking pictures while we were waiting for more cops to show up. just delaying the inevitable. we all know and accept what the consequences are of trespassing. eventually 4 more cops show up, 3 cops, 2 sheriffs and a dog in total. as soon as they started coming in through the gate with the dog we came out so they wouldn't turn the dog loose. they instantly drew their guns and told us to freeze and put our hands where they could see them. then interlace our fingers and get down on our knees one at a time. we were instantly placed in handcuffs and questioned. after they realized it was only us there and we were just photographers not breaking anything and sober, they said since we were so cooperative they would turn us loose. now we are in the system. next time wit will be trespassing 2.

Abandonment Along The Willamette

When the sign reads "Beware of Dog" Man you better Beware of that Dog. Because it very well could be a giant Pit Bull Guard dog Looking for a snack, or in this case Me.

The first location is located between O and C along the Willamette River, i Really do not know what it was. There is a big crane that extends over the river and a mill tower type structure. there were other smaller structures around as well but most were either collapsed or uninteresting. There were some random old trucks sitting around half torn apart. Whatever it was, it is awesome. i plan on returning soon with more time and better lighting.

The second place i attempted to visit looked pretty sweet, an old open warehouse with a bunch of old cars and rv's sitting around. It was littered with "NO TRESPASSING" signs and the old faithful "Beware Of Dog" sign, "Hogwash", i thought as i stepped over the fence with said sign. As I got about 100 feet away from the warehouse I set up a photo with my tripod because its getting pretty dark and I hear a faint "woof", I look around and I don't see anything. Then I hear another "WOOF" and I look into the warehouse expecting to see some asshole with a shotgun sicking his dog on me but instead I see a dogs head sticking up from behind a couch, "Shit" I justly proclaim as the Full grown Pit Bull starts trotting toward me. Judging from the pace of the dog, it didn't necessarily want me dead but more just wanted to see who I was and what I was doing on his property. I Made the decision to not run from fear that if i ran, he would chase and attack. I walked as fast as i could the 200 feet back to my car and he caught up with me about 100 feet from it, I had my leatherman out with the serrated blade at the ready, I held him at bay with my tripod until I got closer to the car and then ended up scratching his head and petting him for a few minutes once i got to the car and realized he didn't want to kill me. He smelled like death and rotting fish but showed no signs of malnutrition. when i opened the door to the car and sat down he jumped up and set his front paws on my lap as if waiting for an invitation to get in. i just said no puppy you have to stay here and closed the door. It was the scariest shit that i have ever encountered on a Jewelhunt, I thought i was going to get mauled by a pit bull because I'm an idiot and I ignored the sign. He was just a guard dog doing his duty.

"Milo? you may not realize it, but this is a very important day for me. This is the day i become a Watch Dog"
