Sweet Creek Falls

Feeling the strain of too much school and work I decided to relax with a camping trip. I packed my camera, dog, and a little food and made tracks to Honeyman State Park to sleep for the night. The next morning I drove to the Sweet Creek Trailhead which is about 50 miles from Eugene but only about 15 miles from my camping spot. The trail is named after the Sweet family who traveled to the area from Illinois in 1845. They took the 6 month journey along with 100 other wagons to settle in Oregon. By the time the wagon train arrived only 7 wagons had survived of the initial 100. The family settled on 160 acres and were the first homesteaders to make their life along this awesome creek. The hike is really mellow and the creek is quite a sight. It seems like you come across a beautiful waterfall section around every corner. At the base of each falls are deep clear pools surrounded by smooth rock formations and lush vegetation, mini lagoons just missing the mermaids.
